Biden, Trump projected to handily win Wisconsin primaries: AP


Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden were both projected to win their respective party primaries in Wisconsin on Tuesday.

The Associated Press called the Democratic primary for Biden, who led with 90.5% as of 9:16 p.m. with 2.4% of precincts reporting. Minnesota Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips trailed with 3.1% while “uninstructed” earned 6.4% support.

The AP further called the GOP primary for the former president, who earned 79.6% as of 9:14 p.m. with 1.5% of precincts reporting. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley earned 12.8% while Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis earned 3.7%.

Both Trump and Biden were expected to win the contests and have already earned enough delegates in the primary contests to become the respective party’s presumptive nominee.
